Eagles Sweep To Finals

It was a good day for the Dryden Eagles girls and boys hockey teams as they both advanced to the Norwossa finals with wins on the road. In girls action the Eagles scored a 5-3 come from behind win over the Fort Frances Muskies in the Fort. With the win the Eagles swept thier semi final series with the Muskies and now await the winner of the Kenora Broncos Thomas Aquinas Saints seires which resumes Monday.

In Boys Action the Dryden Eagles notched another hard fought win over the Red Lake Rams 5-1 in Cochenour. Eric Sanna got the Rams on the board first but Dryden responded five times to sweep the Rams. Austin Helie notched a natural hat trick while Ben Bartlett added two for a total of 5 goals in the two game set. Jonathon Furkalo made 19 saves for the win in net. The Eagles now await for the winner of the Muskies Broncos series which resumes Tuesday night in Kenora.
