Eagles Win on the road and at home

It was a great start to the NORWOSSA high school hockey campaign for the Dryden Eagle girls and boys teams Tuesday night. In boys play, a short handed Eagles squad ran over the Kenora Broncos 7-1 in Kenora. Blair Feller led the Eagles with a hat trick while Jon Engstrom, Kevin DeGagne, Kevin Trott and Aaron Lane each potted singles. Curtis Lambkin made 30 saves between the pipes. The Eagles were missing 11 players due to other athletic commitments and injuries meaning they had just 14 skaters and 2 goalies for the game.

In girls action a nip and tuck affair was decided by a lucky bounce as Dryden beat Fort Frances 3-2. With the game tied at 2 a harmelss looking dump-in found it’s way into the net to score the victory for the Eagles.

Back to Boys Hockey, in ‘A’ play in Sioux Lookout, the Pelican Falls Timberwolves edged Queen Elizabeth 4-3.
