Eagles Win Season Opener

The Dryden Eagles are 1-0 to start the Winnipeg High School Football season.
The Eagles were on the road Friday and pulled out a thrilling 20-17 win over St. Norbert.
The first major came from a 75-yard scoring drive and was finished off by a 6-yard run from Ryan Martel.
Brendan Bartlett hauled in a 53-yard TD pass from Adam Saunders for the second major.
The Eagles would add another touchdown late but saw St. Norbert quickly march down the field.
A game tying field goal was blocked by Jed Benham.
Head Coach Geoff Zilkalns says he was pleased with the effort and the resiliency shown by his squad.
Zilkalns says both clubs battled and failed to wilt under the pressure.
Dryden is back in play Friday for its home opener against rival Fort Frances.
