Two men from southern Ontario have been hit with a $4,000 fine following an October, 2015, hunting trip north of Ear Falls.
Jean Paul Mayer of Navan pleaded guilty to abandoning a cow moose and allowing its flesh to spoil, while Otto Sternad of Oshawa was fined for failing to immediately attach his seal to a cow moose.
Court heard that the two were hunting along Highway 105, when Mayer shot and killed a cow moose.
No effort was made to retrieve and tag the animal.
