Ear Falls Reacts To EACOM Announcement

Ear Falls is buzzing today with confirmation that the Ear Falls Sawmill will be re-opening.
EACOM Timber officially announced this afternoon that the mill will re-start next Spring.
Ear Falls Mayor Kevin Kahoot says the community is ecstatic and notes everyone has an extra spring in their step.
Kahoot stresses it’s been a roller-coaster ride with mill openings and closings.
He says when the Mill was running 5-years ago, it helped local businesses, recreational programs and service clubs.
Kahoot is predicting that “the mill will pick up where it left off”.
He stresses that they have the housing, land and the infrastructure in place to deal with an influx of workers.
The re-start is expected to create 300 mill and woodlands jobs.
