Education, tourism and health care.
Just some of the topics up for discussion at the 77th Annual Kenora District Municipal Association Conference in Ear Falls.
The three day gathering starts Thursday night, with the meat and potatoes Friday with a full agenda.
KDMA President and Host Mayor Kevin Kahoot says another issue needing to be addressed is transportation barriers in our area.
Kahoot says there have been recent announcements surrounding improved transportation services, however it’s not yet clear how that will be rolled out.
He stresses Red Lake, Ear Falls and Machin still have concerns.
A roundtable on the legalization of marijuana will highlight the Saturday agenda at KDMA.
Kahoot says the panel will consist of regional Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kit Young-Hoon, Public School Board Director Sean Monteith, Kenora MP Bob Nault and Sergeant Matt Norlock of the OPP.
Delegates will have a frank discussion on potential issues and fallout from the legalization of pot.
The conference will also include an update on the potential of an underground nuclear repository in the Ignace area
