Ear Falls Receives Funding To Upgrade Trail System

The Township of Ear Falls is getting government money to support its Trail Development project.

Eighty thousand dollars in federal funding and 20 thousand in provincial cash will be used to add a paved trail to the Ear Falls Government Building site.

Officials say the upgrades will improve the quality of active transportation options for residents.

It’s part of the Ear Falls Town Office revitalization project that includes a splash pad, park and trail development.

The governments of Canada and Ontario are investing more than $2.1 million to improve community well-being in 16 communities across the province.

Marathon is the only other northern community benefiting.

The town is getting $100,000 to install a new accessible kayak dock, wooden trails, and a foot bridge to improve trail connections and access to Lake Superior.
