A change of ownership for the Ear Falls Sawmill.
Domtar has sold its forest products business to newly created Conifex
for about $285-million.
Domtar Spokesperson Bonnie Skene says the deal involves 4-sawmills in
Ontario, including the facility in Ear Falls.
The Company says it wants to focus on paper production and the Dryden
Mill won’t be directly effected.
Skene says it could be some time before the sale is approved and
notes it will be business as usual in Ear Falls until that time.
The 2 Company’s will work together to secure long-term fibre agreements between
Ear Falls and Dryden.
