Early Look At Mining Safety Review

The provincial government has released the initial findings of its mining safety review.
The government has been meeting with those in the mining industry across the north gathering input on what needs to be done to improve worker safety.
Minister of Northern Development and Mines Michael Gravelle says one recommendation is improving the visibility of workers as well as developing a mining health database to track incidents of illness.
Another recommendation is new training standards for joint health and safety committees, which are made up of workers and management.
A final report will be released early next year.
