The Ministry of Natural Resources is keeping a close on the melting snow.
The official start of the forest fire season is still 2-weeks away, but spokesperson Debbie MacLean says early signs point to a dry spring and the potential of fires breaking out before then.
MacLean says the MNR will have a full compliment of firefighters in place by mid-April, but will have the ability to fight any fire that does occur before then.
MacLean adds that because many residents consider burning around their property at this time of the year, caution should be exercised.
