The Minister of Education got a first hand look Monday at the
challenges facing Northwestern Ontario schools.
Kathleen Wynne toured the Kenora area and stated millions of dollars in
recent Provincial funding will address some of the Region’s needs over time.
Wynne says part of the funding was $1.3-million to create extra
space at New Prospect School in Dryden to accommodate students from the old Oxdrift School.
The trip also gave Wynne the opportunity to witness some of the
achievements of the regional Catholic and Public School Boards.
Wynne says that includes the establishment of aboriginal based
programs.
