The fate of the NorWOSSA season and extracurricular activities as a whole could be determined early next month.
The provincial government will be holding a teleconference with directors of education January 3rd.
Jack McMaster is the director of education with the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board and is hoping things can return to normal in the new year.
He adds that the break will be a chance for them to clear their minds and continue talks.
The NorWOSSA sports season was put on the shelf on December 10th, when secondary school teachers with the public school board started their job action of refusing to take part in extra-curricular activities.
