Effluent Leak in Fort Frances

An investigation is underway after an effluent leak in For Frances near the downtown core.
Abitibi-Consolidated Officials were notified of the leak around 10:00 Tuesday morning which was flowing into a storm sewer.
Abitibi G-M John Harrison says all 3 paper machines were shut down
and the leak was stopped 40-minutes later.
Town Officials say the leak posed no threat to the public’s health or
environment.
