Domtar is now working to restart its mill in Dryden after two separate power outages Monday, one crippling operations for the day.
Spokesperson Bonnie Skene says residents may hear a large blowing noise, stressing that’s normal in the start-up procedure.
The power first went out at 7:30am, but the mill was able to switch to an internal source to continue operations.
The mill was left completely in the dark when their own power source went down at 11:30am.
Skene says they are planning a detailed investigation to identify the root cause and ensure it doesn’t happen again.
Hydro One will be involved in the probe.
No one was injured and staff are now working diligently to get things back to normal.
