EFTO Want Schools Closed When Snow Day

Elementary school teachers in Ontario want schools closed when a snow day is declared.
At it’s annual convention, the EFTO passed a resolution stating that when boards cancel buses due to poor weather, classes should also be cancelled.
The union says teachers shouldn’t have to put their lives at risk going to work.
Currently, only one school board in Ontario closes schools during snow days.
Local boards keep their schools open for students and teachers who can make it to class.
