An advocate against the closure of the Environmental Lakes Area is in Thunder Bay today to speak at a pair of events.
Diane Orihel is circulating a petition trying to reverse the Harper Government’s decision to close the federally funded facility in March of next year.
Scott Harris with Environment North says the petition has gone global with support for the internationally acclaimed research station near Vermillion Bay.
Harris says saving the ELA will have an environmental and economic impact on northwestern Ontario.
Orihel will be speaking at Confederation College and Lakehead University.
