ELA Looking For Artists In Residence

The Experimental Lakes Area between Kenora and Vermilion Bay is looking to branch out into the arts.

The International Institute For Sustainable Development is launching an artist-in-residence program for the ELA.

Spokesperson Sumeep Bath says they are offering placements of one week or longer to area artists.

“We thought it would be a really great idea to invite artists out to appreciate the beauty and to appreciate the nature. But also to be inspired by the science,” says Bath.

“And for us we really want a new and fresh way communicate the science that we do.”

Bath says applicants can be painters, photographers, poets, writers or anyone who considers themselves to be an artist.

If wish to apply for the program please submit by 11:59 p.m. (Central time) on January 10, 2019: (i) a short written statement explaining your experience, what you are current working on, and why you are interested in the program, along with your availability; (ii) your current CV; and (iii) 6 to 10 examples of your current work to: sbath@iisd.ca
