Elementary Schools Will Remain Closed

Elementary schools in the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board will remain closed to students today.
The Ontario Labour Relations Board has ruled that today’s planned walkout would be illegal.
However, Public School Board Director Jack McMaster says the late response didn’t come in time to allow the board to safely reopen schools.
McMaster says this is a difficult time for everyone and he’s thanking all for their understanding.
The Rainy-River District School Board is also closing elementary schools to students today.
The union representing elementary teachers is asking Ontario teachers to not stage a planned walkout today.
