Elementary school teachers in both the Keewatin-Patricia and the Rainy River School Districts have begun a work-to-rule campaign.
The job action is to back contract demands and force school boards to increase preparation time to 200 minutes per week.
Emily Noble is the president of the Elementary Teachers Federation and says the work-to-rule campaign will not affect classroom learning.

Noble says the teachers will escalate their job action later this year if they are unable to negotiate a new contract with the school boards.
She says they will only consider a full-fledged strike if the teachers are still without a contract at the start of the next school year.
