A new study shows that elk introduced in this area aren’t doing as well
as their counterparts brought to Northeastern Ontario.
Some 110-elk were imported from Alberta almost 10-years ago, but only
about half that number are still surviving.
Rick Rosatti Co-Authoured the Report and says its still possible for
the population to grow.
Rosatti suggests wolves and hunters have also harmed the elk population
in the Northwest.
