A heartbreaking, yet humbling loss for the Dryden Eagles on the opening day of the Winnipeg High School Football Season.
The Eagles squandered a 15-3 lead with just over two minutes to go in the game en route to an 18-15 loss to the Elmwood Giants Friday on home turf.
Jake Berry scored the lone Dryden touchdown with a 34-yard interception return.
Adam Swientek nailed two field goals, while the Eagles defense forced a Giants safety.
Dryden is back on the turf next Friday in Winnipeg.
