Emo Joins List Under State Of Emergency

A state of emergency has been declared in Emo.

The township becomes the third in the Rainy River District to make the call due to flooding.

The decision was made following an assessment of damage caused to roads and the riverfront.

The Emergency Control Group is monitoring the possibility of further damage as river levels rise.

There is no immediate threat to residents, but officials are asking people to avoid any areas that are flooded or appear to be affected by high waters.

The town of Fort Frances and the township of La Vallee declared emergencies on the weekend.
