Encouraging Test Results in Atikokan Area

Grades 3 and 6 students in Atikokan and the rest of the Rainy River School District did well on recent Provincial reading, writing and math tests.
Assistant Superintendent Linda Hill says the School Board is taking a proactive approach when it comes to student achievement and claims they continue to lead the Region in teacher training.
Hill notes there is room for improvement especially in the field of writing and adds teachers will have an opportunity to upgrade their training.
The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board is also reporting significant improvement in test results.
