Farewell to forest fire season in Northwestern Ontario.
Today marks the official end date, with 664 fires this year burning more then 97 thousand hectares.
Ministry of Natural Resources Information Officer Debbie McLean says they started early this year, with the first fire confirmed in January in the Kenora District.
She adds they were busy in the spring, and then it got quiet but they also started helping Northeastern Ontario with their busy fire season in the summer.
