English-Elk-Poaching

The Lake of the Woods Elk Restoration Committee says there has been a drastic reduction in the number of elk poached this hunting season.
Murray English is a spokesperson for the group and say last year was particulary bad, with over a dozen animals poached or shot accidentally.
English says this year, there haven’t been any poaching incidents, and credits hard work by his committee and the M.N.R.
He adds there have been reports of a few calves in the Cameron Lake area near Sioux Narrows, which is a positive sign for the local elk population.
