Enhanced 9-1-1 Coming Soon

Communities such as Sioux Lookout, Ignace and Machin are about to have access to 9-1-1 for the first time.
Starting December 13th, an enhanced 9-1-1 system will be available to these areas plus Dryden, Eagle Lake First Nation and ten unorganized townships surrounding Dryden.
Dryden has already had a basic 9-1-1 system for several years now.
The Dryden and Surrounding Area 9-1-1 Committee has been instrumental in working with Bell Canada in assigning civic addresses, developing road maps and compiling all addressing information.
Committee Chair Maryann Legros says operators will be able to identify the phone number and address of where the 9-1-1 call is coming from in the new enhanced system.
The Dryden Police Service has been contracted to be the call takers for the service.
