Environment Canada Predicts A Cool And Wet Summer

The summer forecast for northwestern Ontario isn’t great.

Environment Canada senior climatologist David Phillips says it looks to be wetter and cooler than average.

“June, July, August, the situation improves somewhat,” explains Phillips.

“The closer you get to Manitoba you are, the cooler it will be. Precipitation is harder to get right, but we’re saying it looks like it will be wetter than normal.”

Phillips says the good news is there should be relatively few forest fires, especially compared to last year.
