Environment Canada is looking to improve the way agencies can access weather reports.
Speaking in Dryden, Meteorologist Geoff Coulson says they are working on developing ECAlert Me, which will provide email and text notifications on local weather events.
Coulson says organizations will be able to choose specific warnings they want to receive, and how often.
He notes it’s great for the media and emergency response organizations, giving them the freedom to put more detailed information in the warnings.
Coulson says they will include updates from the public who witness severe weather events.
The improvements will take place over the summer.
