The MP for Kenora is asking everyone to take some time Wednesday to remember our Veterans.
Most Remembrance Day ceremonies are going to be virtual because of COVID-19.
However, Eric Melillo stresses it’s important to honour those who have fought for our freedom.
“A reminder for us of the sacrifices of our Veterans and those who continue to serve in the Armed Forces and the simple fact is that ‘all we have, the rights we have, the freedoms we enjoy, we owe to our Veterans.'”
He adds the day is one to “Reflect on the bravery of Canada’s Veterans and make sure we thank them for all they’ve done and continue to do for us.”
Melillo is urging everyone to recognize the day in their own way.
He says you can pick-up a poppy, make a donation to support your hometown Legion and observe a moment of silence.
The Federal government announced Tuesday $14-million for Royal Canadian Legion’s across Canada to help keep branches open.
