In loving memory of Esme Hampe, age 93 years, who passed away in the Dryden Regional Health Center on Friday, January 10, 2014.
Esme is survived by her family: Susan, Pat, Graham and Michelle Cullen of Ear Falls and Wendy Hampe of Surrey, B.C.
She was predeceased by her husband Martin in 1990, her mother Grace Wright in 1970, her father Walter Wright in 1936 and her infant sister Joyce in 1921.
Born March 11, 1920, Esme enjoyed a life full of adventure and success. She always had a story to tell of something exciting from her past experiences – in Eagle River, Winnipeg, Fort Nelson, Dryden – she had a sharp memory for details.
In her earlier years, she worked in Proudfoots Department Store and later, the Credit Bureau. She was an active participant in the St. Luke’s Altar guild, polishing brass and ironing linens. She was a bowler and curler, but most dear to her heart was her love of painting. Many of her works grace walls of Dryden residents.
Mom, you are gone, but never forgotten. We will always remember you with love in our hearts.
Funeral Services for Esme Hampe will be held Wednesday, January 15th at 1:00 p.m. in St. Luke’s Anglican Church with Father Dick Kennedy officiating. Interment will follow in the Dryden Cemetery. Visitation will take place in St. Luke’s Church Wednesday from 12 noon until time of service.
In lieu of flowers donations to St. Luke’s Church or a charity of your choice may be made through the Stevens Funeral Homes P.O. Box 412, Dryden ON P8N 2Z1. Condolences may be posted at www.stevensfuneralhomes.ca.
