Esther (Faulkner) Ernewein was born on a farm just outside of Dryden.
As a child she attended Albert Street School, then Dryden High.
She enlisted in the RCAF in Winnipeg, serving first in Trenton and then being posted overseas in 1943.
Esther worked in administration and support at several RCAF bases and was posted in London.
After the war, she returned home.
