With our deepest regrets, the family of Ethel Flickinger announces the passing of our dear mother and loving grandmother on Thursday, November 25, 2010 at her residence at Princess Court.
Mom is survived by her daughter, Sharon, her son, Eric (Dawn) and her grandson, Brennan Flickinger. She was predeceased by her husband, James, in 1987.
Ethel was born in Hinsdale, Illinois and spent her early childhood years in that community. It was there she met her husband, Jim, and they were married in 1945. Ethel and Jim came to Canada in their younger years. Together they managed Cedar Point Lodge on Eagle Lake. They retired in 1972 and moved to their current home on the east end of Eagle Lake, where they continued to enjoy the beauty of northwestern Ontario. They enjoyed fishing, gardening and other outdoor activities. Mom remained in her residence on Eagle Lake enjoying watching the birds and deer feeding on her deck. She moved to Princess Court in December 2009.
At Mom’s request, there will be no service as cremation has taken place.
The family wishes to acknowledge and thank the personable staff of Princess Court for their unfailing and consistent care.
