76-fire evacuees from Cat Lake First Nation are settled into Dryden High School.
The residents started to arrive around 7 o’clock Monday night, with the last of 7 flights touching down at 10:30.
They were welcomed at Dryden High School by the Canadian Red Cross, City volunteers and School Board volunteers.
The evacuees are mostly young families.
McMonagle says the High School was selected because of limited space at area Hotels.
McMonagle says the City may receive another 75 Cat Lake residents Wednesday.
They will be housed at another location, with Pinewood School one possibility.
She is asking that the public refrain from visiting the High School until further notice.
