DESCRIPTION:Join us for a two-day conference focused on collaboration and community-driven solutions. Together\, we’ll explore critical challenges affecting our communities\, with a focus on vulnerable populations. Topics will include substance use health\, harm reduction\, infectious diseases\, humanizing transactions\, and breaking the stigma surrounding these issues. \nThis conference brings together service providers\, community organizations\, and advocates working to address these pressing social issues. Attendees will gain valuable insights\, engage in meaningful discussions\, and explore strategies to create more inclusive and supportive communities. \nWe are proud to feature expert guest speakers\, including: \n\nDr. John Grek\nJill Faber\, The SHIFT\nJessica Wilson\nBobby Hudon\nCAPSA (Community Addictions Peer Support Association)\nSurrey Place Harm Reduction Program\n\nThroughout the event\, participants will have the opportunity to connect with professionals from various sectors\, exchange ideas\, and collaborate on solutions that make a real impact. Interactive sessions\, panel discussions\, and networking opportunities will provide a platform for learning and advocacy. \nThe following panel discussions will take place: \n\nCommunity Collaboration in Harm Reduction – Panelists: Kenora District Services Board (KDSB)\, Mental Health and Wellness\, Dr Grek\, Jessica Wilson\, SLFNHA\nFirst Line Perspectives from the Field – Panelists: Front-line staff from Kenora Association for Community Living (KACL)\n\n☕ Meals provided: \n\nDay 1: Breakfast and lunch\nDay 2: Breakfast and lunch\n\n🏨 Accommodations:\nBlocks of rooms have been reserved at both the Holiday Inn Express and Best Western Plus on a first-come\, first-served basis. DESCRIPTION:We have a crop of incredibly talented musicians\, singers\, songwriters and artists from right here in northwestern Ontario. \nOne of the things that we do very well is cheer on those around us who are committed to their artform and who are honing their craft\, all while finding success. \nOn Oct. 9 the PI in Dryden (aka Patricia Inn Family Restaurant) will showcase a pair of live music acts that are connected to our area. \nIt’s a concert you won’t want to miss.
