DESCRIPTION:The DHS Leadership class is running the Gear for Grads closet\, where we have formal dresses and suits for our graduating Grade 12 and Grade 8 students who may not be able to afford their own. If you have any formal dresses\, suits\, dress shoes\, or clothing racks that can get a second life\, we would love to have them! \nWe particularly are looking for more suits in any size (jackets\, pants\, and dress shirts) and longer dresses in size 0-4 (xxs-s) and 10+ (L and up) any additional clothing racks you might have laying around could be a big help as our inventory is ever growing. \nDonations can be dropped off in the main office during regular school hours (Monday-Friday\, 8:30 AM-3:10 PM). One of the most defining chapters in our national story is the Battle of Vimy Ridge\, fought from April 9–12\, 1917\, during the First World War.\nAt Vimy Ridge\, soldiers from all four Canadian divisions fought together for the first time. Against daunting odds\, they achieved what other Allied forces had been unable to do—capturing the heavily fortified ridge in northern France. The victory came at a tremendous cost\, with more than 10\,000 Canadian casualties\, including over 3\,500 lives lost. Yet Vimy Ridge is remembered not only as a military success\, but as a moment when Canada emerged on the world stage as a confident\, capable nation.\nToday\, the Canadian National Vimy Memorial stands in France as a lasting tribute to those who served and sacrificed.
