DESCRIPTION:The DHS Leadership class is running the Gear for Grads closet\, where we have formal dresses and suits for our graduating Grade 12 and Grade 8 students who may not be able to afford their own. If you have any formal dresses\, suits\, dress shoes\, or clothing racks that can get a second life\, we would love to have them! \nWe particularly are looking for more suits in any size (jackets\, pants\, and dress shirts) and longer dresses in size 0-4 (xxs-s) and 10+ (L and up) any additional clothing racks you might have laying around could be a big help as our inventory is ever growing. \nDonations can be dropped off in the main office during regular school hours (Monday-Friday\, 8:30 AM-3:10 PM). If that’s not possible\, we can make other arrangements. Please reach out if you have any questions!!

SUMMARY:Open House for Nuclear Waste Impact Assessment
DESCRIPTION:On April 22\, 2026 the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada will host an Open House information session on the NWMO Deep Geological Repository (DGR) for Canada’s Used Nuclear Fuel Project. \nA community open house will take place on Wednesday\, April 22\, 2026\, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Dyment Recreation Hall\, offering residents a chance to learn more about the federal impact assessment process for the proposed Deep Geological Repository (DGR) for Canada’s Used Nuclear Fuel Project. \nThe Open House will feature presentations by the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (IAAC)\, followed by a relaxed open-house period where attendees can explore information\, ask questions\, and speak directly with staff. The goal is to create a comfortable and informative environment for community members of all backgrounds. \nThis session comes at an important time\, as the assessment process has entered a new phase following the recent decision to proceed with a review panel. Community input will be sought on how the assessment should be carried out and how people can participate effectively. \nThe upcoming draft Integrated Tailored Impact Statement Guidelines and the draft Public Participation Plan will be central to the discussion. These documents outline what will be studied and how the public can stay engaged throughout the life of the project. \nPrinted materials will be available at the event and will remain accessible locally after the session\, helping ensure that everyone has the opportunity to review and reflect on the information. \nWhether you have been following the project closely or are just starting to learn about it\, this open house is a great opportunity to get informed and be part of the conversation. \nAll are interested community members from Dryden\, Ignace\, Sioux Lookout and the area are welcome and invited to attend. \nThis open house is organized in partnership with the Local Services Board of Melgund\, Art Borups Corners and is made possible with funding from the IAAC Participant Funding program.
