Exciting Start to SIJHL Playoffs

The Dryden Ice Dogs hold the early advantage in the SIJHL seeding playoff.
BJ Mcllelan broke a 1-1 tie early in the second period as the Ice Dogs held off the Sioux Lookout Flyers 3-1 Thursday night in Dryden.
Mcllelan says he was happy with the effort, especially in the defensive zone.
Kyle Heck cemented the game in the final period when he intercepted a pass during a 5 on 3 penalty kill and scored short-side on Peter Emery.
Tanner Harms also found the back of the net.
Adam Wensley replied for Sioux Lookout.
Dryden outshot the Flyers 35-34.
In the SIJHL Best of 7 Qualification series, Aaron Ross scored the winner as the K&A Wolverines defeated the Fort Frances Lakers 5-3 in the opening game in Thunder Bay.
