An investigator from the Ontario fire marshall’s office
is being brought in to help look into the cause of an
explosion on the Kenora Harbourfront.
The blast took place last night shortly after 7:30 and
destroyed a 43 foot houseboar.
A 21 year old woman was the only person on the boat at
the time and she sustained serious injuries.
The woman was pulled out of the water by a local resident
and then taken to hospital by ambulance.
Kenora fire chief Warren Brinkman says the boat sank
overnight, and now they’ll have to salvage the wreckage
from the bottom of the lake.

A couple of children had been playing on an adjacent dock
when the explosion took place and were taken to hospital as
a precautionary measure.
They were given a check-up and then released.
