Extreme Cold Continues

Hard to believe temperatures were hovering at or above the freezing mark a little more than a week ago, isn’t it?

Northwestern Ontario is shivering under an extended day and night cold snap that is likely to continue all week.

In the rather official ‘weather-speak,’ Environment Canada says……

A multi-day episode of very cold wind chills is expected.

Extreme wind chill values of minus 40 to minus 45 this morning, then again tonight and Monday night.

There will be some improvement during the afternoons as temperatures warm slightly, before temperatures fall again in the evenings.

The extreme cold may continue for the remainder of the week with wind chill values approaching minus 40 each night.”

The warning covers most of the Northwest from Upsala to the Manitoba border, with our area right in the midst of it.

Dress warm, plug your car in and please bring your pets inside.
