The Canadian National Institute for the Blind’s mobile eye care clinic is now stationed at Rainycrest in Fort Frances.
From spring to fall each year, the eye van rolls across Northern Ontario with funding support from various community partners.
Spokesperson Kimberly Swartz notes the mobile unit fills gaps in eye care services in the community.

The CNIB eye van traveled more than 6-thousand kilometres last year to 30 communities and saw over 5-thousand patients.
Starting Monday, the eye van will be stationed in Rainy River at the Old Town Hall for one week.
