Facebook Scam Hits Region

A scam is targeting facebook accounts.
A local woman was sent a message through her friend’s account, saying that the recipient had won 65 thousand dollars as a part of a lottery held in California in May.
The message proceeded to say that sending 650 dollars to a person by the name of Anne Marie Howard in Quincy Massachusetts would secure the money.
The woman contacted her friend, who said her account was hacked.
The Dryden Police want to remind the public to ignore any such messages that they get.
