Fall Election Looming?

The Liberals say they will introduce a motion
of non-confidence in the House of Commons in early October — a move
that is expect to force a fall election.
In a fiery campaign-style speech to caucus members in Sudbury,
Ontario, Michael Ignatieff said Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s
“time is up” and the Liberals will no longer prop up the minority
Conservative government.
Liberal foreign affairs critic Bob Rae says the Liberals will
take the first opportunity they have _ likely in early October _ to
bring down the minority Tories.
He says they’ve given the Conservatives 10 months to get their
act together.
Ignatieff slams Harper for presiding over the worst unemployment
in two decades and plunging Canada back into a huge deficit.
He also says the government has failed to protect the most
vulnerable and defend health care.
Ignatieff says a Liberal government has a “vision for rebuilding
the Canadian economy,” including expanding trade with huge emerging
markets in China and India.
And he promises a government that will bring Canadians together,
rather than divide them.
Rae says the party is ready for an election.
