Doctors from the Dingwall Medical Group have formed a Family Health Network and will begin to sign up their respective patients today.
Dr. Mark Whittaker says most people will not see any immediate change in how their medical needs are met because the Network is geared towards the future.
An after-hours telephone advise line will be established.
Under the FHN, Doctors are paid a yearly fee per patient, rather than the current per visit charge.
As well, new physicians who are looking to set up a practise will be guaranteed a salary in their first year within the Network, which is seen as a major drawing card.
