A Kenora couple are being credited with saving a family whose truck went through Lake of the Woods.
John and Dorothy Monteith were traveling in the area of Rope Island late last week when they notice a woman standing by the side of the ice road soaking wet.
A truck had apparently hit an ice ridge and broke through the ice.
The woman managed to get out of the pick-up and her husband was able to get two kids safely out as well.
Monteith says he was able to use a shovel to get the man out of the back of the truck to safety.
