The wait was well worth it!
Hundreds waited as long as five hours Tuesday at the Intercity Mall in Thunder Bay to see Pittsburgh Penguins goalie Matt Murray and the Stanley Cup.
When asked what it was like to have his picture taken with Lord Stanley, Cosimo Minnella says it was “pretty crazy and surprising” to have a local person bring the cup home.
Minnella says he just wanted to be near and touch the cup but stressed the experience was more about his two young sons.
Some folks lined up as early as 7:30 to take in the event.
For his part, Murray stressed he’s proud to be from Thunder Bay, and says it’s a dream come true to bring the Cup home.
