Fatal Mishap in Sioux Lookout Reported

Please be aware of poor ice conditions.
The warning follows a reported drowning in Sioux Lookout.
CKDR has received several reports that a young man fell through the ice while snowmobiling at Frog Rapids on the weekend.
Several people report that another male teen jumped off his machine and attempted to save him.
He couldn’t save the victim and was transported to hospital with hypothermia.
One caller to the CKDR Newsroom stresses teens in the Sioux Lookout area are in shock and in mourning today.
OPP have not confirmed the incident.
