Vic Fedeli says the province has failed the people of northwestern Ontario by taking a lackluster approach to mining.
The provincial PC leadership candidate led a mining round table in the city today.
He says what resonated most is the fact that Ontario used to be the number one mining jurisdiction in the world, but has since tumbled to 28th spot.
Fedeli adds we need to reignite the Ring of Fire, saying the mineral belt is an unparalleled opportunity for northern Ontario, yet not one penny of provincial money has been spent.
Fedeli also offered his opinion on the Liberals allegedly offering Andrew Olivier an appointment as an incentive not to run, calling the Sudbury byelection “the worst in politics.” (File photo)
