Local candidates say they aren’t paying much attention to national election polls with less than a week until the federal vote.
The Liberals have increased their lead in the most recent polls, but Bob Nault says now is not the time to rest on their laurels.
Nault says he’s not taking his party’s recent success for granted.
He says he’ll spend the final week running as if they are still trailing in the polls.
As for the NDP, their numbers have been slipping in recent weeks, but Howard Hampton says he’s not worried.
Hampton says polls can change in the final days of the campaign, so it’s up to his party to show it’s a viable alternative to the Conservatives and the Liberals.
