Federal Government funding in the region!
Kenora MP Bob Nault has announced funding for Wabigoon as well as Shoal Lake #40 First Nation.
$27,685 will enable the Local Services Board of Wabigoon to make improvements to its Memorial Hall.
Nault says the Hall is an important hub for the community and the money will be used to extend the life of the facility and improve energy efficiency through the installation of HardiePlank exterior siding and LED light fixtures.
$52,000 has also been announced for Shoal Lake #40 First Nation to rehabilitate and modernize its community centre.
Nault says the investment will assist in refurbishing the roof, installing a hardwood surface over the existing concrete floor, painting new play surface markings, and retrofitting interior doors.
He also says the facility is an integral part of the fabric of the community and helps bring people together.
