Northern First Nations continue to benefit from Federal funding.
Kenora MP Bob Nault joined Health Minister Jane Philpott in Fort Hope Thursday to announce $150,000 for the planning of an Aboriginal Head Start facility.
Nault says the program provides Early Childhood Education activities which promote school readiness, language, cultural awareness and family engagement.
He adds the funding will address limited space and access to play area challenges.
Nault says he’s been touring the riding and announcing funding to try and address some of the on-gong problems in these communities.
He notes the problem in the Far North is ten times worse than it is in the southern section of the Kenora riding.
